The eagerly anticipated end of summer party in aid of the Brompton Fountain was the climax to a super summer season and the much talked about fundraiser was the charity party everyone wanted to attend.
Our aim was to continue to raise much needed funds and awareness for children suffering from severe and sometimes life threatening heart and lung conditions at the Royal Brompton Hospital. We wanted to help raise more funds to be able to grant these very brave children wishes and we managed to do just that.
The Wellington Club, known affectionately as “The Welly” to its regular members, is located in Knightsbridge. It’s an uber cool celebrity playground and was the perfect setting for the Brompton Fountain party. It manages to avoid some of the stuffier attitudes of its environment though, instead opting for all-out fun and it didn’t disappoint.
This is reflected in the décor, which includes Damien Hirst artwork, disco balls, and skull-motif wallpaper in the downstairs dance floor room. Upstairs is a little less intense, with comfortable leather sofas and low wooden tables, but the rock and roll theme continues throughout with cherubic dolls stuck on the walls and a predominately black and neon colour scheme.
The fact that International super DJ Pete Tong helped the venue to choose their sound system shows they’re serious about the quality of the sound and the DJ on the night had the dance floor rocking to club classics, disco and sounds of yesteryear right until the early hours. Our fun crowd on the night made the most of the upbeat atmosphere, complimentary drinks on arrival and copious amounts of sweets and treats too.
You could really see why the Wellington is such a big hit with celebrities such as Rihanna and Mickey Rourke to name but a few. The fun continued into the evening with a superb floor and pole routine from London’s finest dancers who combined a mix of dance and gymnastic to their impressive floor show.
We then had our amazing raffle where three of our lucky guests on the evening won tickets to the sold out concert of Bruno Mars, tickets to the hit musical WICKED and dinner for 2 at the Wellington, plus 2 VIP memberships.
Once again another fun night raising funds and awareness for this incredible children’s charity and we look forward to continuing to help grant more wishes for as many Brompton Fountain children as possible.
