Our intimate evening with the Portuguese National Tourist Office and the Porto Convention Bureau event was a huge success on so many levels and was held at the impressive Portuguese Embassy in London.
The Portuguese Embassy is located in one of London’s grandest squares, the historic building is one of a number of embassies in the area and regularly plays host to dignitaries and trade events. As a busy building and a focal point for Portuguese citizens in the UK, 11 Belgravia Square is a beautiful building in pristine condition.
The Portuguese Embassy was the perfect location for this intimate evening focused on Porto and Northern Portugal region and the fabulous and welcoming staff of the Embassy combined with traditional decor, superb Portuguese cuisine, gorgeous wine and port created a relaxed and tranquil setting which never let us down.
Guests were treated to welcome drinks on arrival which were Tagus Creek Red Cabernet Aragonez, Quinta de Azevedo Vinho Verde, Portuguese Port and Rose too.
The menu had a very traditional Portuguese taste to it and consisted of the following; Piri piri marinated chicken kebabs with dipping sauce, homemade sardine, tomato and chilli paste served on crispy bread and Espetada – marinated beef fillet skewers.
The vegetarian options were just as delicious and were made up of soft cheese crostini topped roasted peppers and oregano and sun-blushed tomato, fresh basil and goat’s cheese skewers and if that wasn’t enough we had Mini custard tarts for dessert too.
The simple aim of the event was to give guests and companies big and small the opportunity to come along, meet, greet, network and ultimately learn more about the splendour of Porto and Northern Portugal and all that the region has to offer.
The Porto Convention Bureau gave an excellent and informative presentation on what was on offer to all that visit this stunning destination. We learnt that Porto and the North of Portugal have 4 world heritage sites by Unesco: the historical city of Porto, the historical city of Guimaraes, the Foz Coa Art Valley and the Douro Valley all incredible in their own way.
Overall our guests experienced a real taste of Portugal and it’s rich culture and left the event with goody bags packed with treats and delights from the city of Porto as a momento.
Until next time…Obrigado!
