The newly launched Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort is splendor and richness at its very best and comprises of 148 suites, one-and two bedroom luxury apartments complete with personalised butler service and full access to all of Pine Cliffs’ facilities.

The resort is located in the most southern region of Portugal, the Algarve, famous for its almost constant sunshine and long sandy beaches. This gorgeous outpost is perched on beautiful red cliffs with stunning views out to the Atlantic Ocean, with lush green manicured lawns and pine trees.

I was looking forward to discovering and experiencing more about this affluent resort and all it had to offer.

There are a variety of accommodation spread throughout the resort to choose from, however, I stayed in one of the dazzling designed Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites. This handsome apartment was well presented with an ample outside terrace and combined both classic furniture with a hint of Portuguese design which was very easy on the eye. My delightful suite featured a sizeable King size bed, living area, dining area and a spacious bathroom, fitted bath, rain shower and complimentary comfy bathrobes and slippers. Other amenities available throughout the room were air conditioning, digital flat screen TV, mini bar, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities.

There are eleven restaurants spread across the resort with an excellent variation of dining experiences on offer. For lunch I sampled the O Grill which is a Mediterranean inspired restaurant that over looks the plush golf course and is set by one of the six swimming pools on the site. It has a casual atmosphere and a wonderful menu to choose from. I thoroughly recommend the grilled chicken “Guia” style with tomato salad which was cooked to perfection.

After lunch I went on a guided tour of Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort which reopened on 26th June 2016 after a full renovation, the new and completely refurbished hotel is very impressive and boasts 217 guest rooms and suites, each featuring a private terrace or balcony with graceful views over the resort. Coupled with further activities such as the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy and a first class 9-hole golf course and golf academy too. I was also given a short overview of the hotel’s distinctive Azulejos by the very knowledgeable Head Concierge, Hugo Viegas.

Once my tour had concluded it was back to my suite to prepare for the much anticipated launch party that evening. The celebrations that ensued were on a grand scale and it didn’t disappoint. A number of artists took to the stage to perform a variety of song and dance themed routines that hailed from different parts of the world. Hundreds of guests were in attendance to witness the birth of the new Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort and ranged from VIP’s and dignitaries all rubbing shoulders with one another sampling the very best Portuguese and international cuisine on offer. A fantastic evening was ended by a spectacular fireworks display and guests danced the night away to the soundtrack of the DJ playing the ultimate of old and new dance floor classics.

After the night that was I had the opportunity the next morning to go and experience the Pine Cliffs’ sparkling new gym and health club. The workout space offers a 190m2 area bathed in natural light and equipped with the latest fitness equipment from Technogym. Also on offer are free and static weights, an indoor pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi and a relaxation area too. I had an excellent training session and thoroughly recommend this gym for all those keep fit enthusiasts wishing to add a little health and well being to their schedule whilst on the resort.

After a good workout there is nothing better than a relaxing massage and I was delighted to experience the brand new state-of-the-art destination spa, Serinity The Art Of Well Being for my spa treatment. This oasis of tranquility is an exceptional 1,000m2 sanctuary that I am sure will be a firm favourite with Spa aficionados. There are twelve themed treatment rooms, a Thermal Oasis and a magnificent Aurum Serinity Suite which is a luxurious and private space for those wishing to enjoy a premium Serinity spa experience. Needless to say, my spa treatment was outstanding and for guests looking to relax and revitalize whilst on the resort, Serinity will help you achieve this and more.

My next dining experience was lunch at the sun-kissed Beach Club, set on the golden sands of the magnificent 6km Praia da Faleisa beach that stretches all the way to Vilamoura and is accessed by a lift followed by a series of wide steps. This uber cool eatery offers a large variety of fresh salads and snacks, the finest fresh seafood dishes, refreshing and seasonal ice-cream too. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch there and recommend the “Prego De Lombo” which was delicious.

My final dinner that evening at Pine Cliffs Resort was at the Piri Piri Steak House which is amongst a calm and serene backdrop offering a unique selection of prime meat produce from all four corners of the globe, grilled to perfection. I sampled the New Zealand Rack Of Lamb which was heavenly, cooked just right, beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. For those guests that enjoy their meat dishes this restaurant is a must visit.

In short, Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort offers everything for the single traveller, couples or a family looking to experience that next level of luxury. These fantastic new suites have enhanced the offer across the Pine Cliffs Resort which remains a firm favourite, with its short transfer time from Faro airport, an abundant choice of recreational pastimes on offer and a variety of child-friendly facilities, it breathes new life into the Algarve as a serious contemporary destination. I am already looking forward to re-visiting this glittering resort again soon.
