London’s homeless crisis continues to rise due to the Coronavirus.

With London streets much quieter than before, the ‘invisible homeless community’ is much more visible now as they wander the empty landscape in search of food and shelter to get them through another day.

Before the lockdown, London would offer some form of sanctuary to rough sleepers with the generosity of passers-by offering money, food, drink, clothing and sometimes, just someone to talk to.

Soup kitchens, day centres, cafes, and other amenities who usually provide much-needed support are all closed until further notice, which has left many on the streets without basic needs such a place to shower or even facilities to wash their clothes.

However, Under One Sky, a collective of volunteers who have been serving the homeless community since 2012 have taken to the streets of London to help combat this growing crisis.
There has been a sharp rise in the newly homeless too, due to the direct impact of losing their jobs, income, and their homes due to the global pandemic.

Under One Sky has launched a Covid19 Emergency Relief for the Homeless in London and this has surpassed £100,000 so far.
