The joyous visit during the festive season was in aid of The Brompton Fountain, a charity that helps support children and their families from severe life-threatening heart and lung conditions under the care of Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.
The Brompton Fountain recently celebrated 10 years as a registered charity and have supported thousands of families and made a huge difference to the facilities and environment available to patients and parents throughout this time.
The charity also organises a number of fundraising activities and appeals throughout the year which helps to raise awareness and much needed funds to support the purchase of vital equipment, treats, toys, gifts and wishes for children and their families on the ward.
Binky was also able to meet some very excited young adult Cystic fibrosis sufferers on Foulis ward and learn more about the genetic condition affecting more than 10,800 people in the UK. During the visits Binky distributed a variety of Christmas gifts, chocolates and treats to the patients which were all well received.
Trudy Nickels – Director at The Brompton Fountain says; “We were so thrilled that Binky was able to visit a number of our younger patients on the ward recently, it meant so much to the children and their families” “The special guest ward visit is brilliant and gives everyone a huge positive boost during the festive season.
You can still support The Brompton Fountain this Christmas by simply sending a text to TOYS05 £2 to 70070 to help make a difference.
